I always knew my life would be fabulous

I don’t know how I knew. But I did. And no matter what I was in the midst of, I knew one day my life would be fabulous.

Interesting is the way I describe my life. I have always been interesting in learning something. Interested in meeting people. Interested in newness.

Learning for me has been a way of maintaining my balance, and I’ve always had the rush to application. I never learned every detail because while the rest of it was being taught , was finding ways to incorporate and activate the first of it.

I’ve always been on my way to the fabulous life, so the “not so fabulous” never arrested or held me captive. Friends and family often wondered how I survived the challenging times, how I continued to thrive, continued to produce. I was on my way.

I never passed up an opportunity to travel. Even solo. I had to take every advantage because each individually could have been the way to the fabulous.

Texas where I met Pulitzer Prize poet, Gwendolyn Brooks. She was fabulous. She was so real. So non Pulitzer in my mind. She would have become an Auntie had we stayed in close proximity.

Wisconsin for a seminarians conference. There I met former Ambassador Susan Johnson Cook. People there apologized for slavery and washed the feet of those who would be available for the grace.

London to teach and preach for three weeks. I met and ministered to people from varied parts of the world. I walked on crowded streets where people bumped into each other with no backlash. I attended the world premiere of a movie. I taught in Wales and stayed in a storied bread and breakfast establishment that served fish for breakfast. I walked with my host to Buckingham Palace and took pictures from the top deck of the buses.

And I’m still moving, I’m still learning. I’m trying new things. I’m guided by my Holy Spirit and every day, every night is more fabulous than I could have imagined.
