A classmate from Wesley Seminary told me that when she was having a hard day, she’d see me on campus and I’d give her my thumbs up. From that, what I considered a corny sign, she’d be encouraged that things would be okay. I had no idea I just used it as a greeting when I wasn’t geographically close to the people I wanted to touch.
Sometimes the strangest things bless us without our even realizing it. A friend who always gives sincere compliments. One who makes time whenever you need it. The encouraging friend who always sees the best in you. The card. The emoji. The Tik Tok. The IG post. Acts of blessing.
We’re blessed every day to breathe without having to think about it. Most of us. And every day blessings abound. So much that we/I take them for granted. I am so blessed to be alive, to be healthy; to have family and friends I love and who love me back. I am so blessed to be as old as I am and be doing myriad things I love to do. I am so blessed, even in such strange times.
Today I’m going to make an effort to be a blessing to as many people as I can, in as many ways as I can. How about you?

We never know what our words or actions will do for someone.
