Think of a book so good, you just cannot put it down. That is you. You’re the book. The Corinthians writer called you a living epistle. Your story is so good. Your testimony is so on point. Your drama is captivating, and people are watching your light shine, they’re tasting the salt, they’re seeing your walk and are being drawn by Jesus, as he said he would, to his life and light inside you. Applause. Applause. Now go to it!
Compel them to come.
They will come. They won’t even know why they’re coming. They won’t even know what’s drawing them to you. They will just know they cannot stay away.
Be a compelling epistle. Lively. Full of life. Full of joy. Full to overflowing. So full that there’s an overflow to those around you. And you’re often being asked about the differences they see in you. Differences in how you live. Differences in how you speak. Differences in how you conduct your daily life. Differences in how you manage relationships. Differences in how you endure hard times.
Compel them to come.
Not bible-bashing. Don’t hit them on the head with the Bible. Don’t read them a litany of their sins. Don’t remind them how their grandmother raised them in church. Or of how active they used to be in church.
Set for them an example they cannot resist
Compel them to come.
“The master said, ‘Then go to the country roads. Whoever you find, drag them in. I want my house full! Let me tell you, not one of those originally invited is going to get so much as a bite at my dinner party.’” (Luke 14:23-24 MSG)
“And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.” (Luke 14:23-24 KJV)
